IAC SUPPLIES STYLISH ACOUSTIC LOUVRE SCREEN FOR REISS FASHION HOUSE

IAC, Europe’s leading supplier of noise control solutions, has met a demanding architectural brief in the supply of two large, acoustic louvre screens for the London HQ of Reiss fashion house.

A leading designer and retailer of men’s and women’s prêt a porter, Reiss has 30 outlets in London and others around the world, including the USA, Europe and the Middle East.

The bespoke acoustic louvre screens at their flagship location form part of a refurbishment programme for the entire building, including the air conditioning system. Architects Squire and Partners required that the larger rooftop louvre screen was inclined at 15 degrees and incorporated mitred corner blade sections to match the adjacent mansard roofing. The louvre blades were also inverted to prevent ‘line of sight’ through the screen from nearby offices and residences.

The screens measure 23m x 5m and 7m x 9m and are staggered over two roof levels. Gary Dawson, IAC Business Manager, said: “Our design successfully interpreted the brief, to provide effective acoustic treatment but also architecturally sympathetic screening of the plant rooms. Crucially we maintained good air flow around the plant in the process.”
